NOTES: This extremely rare and unique example of the Universal Polerouter in 18K rose gold is one of only three known examples of Universal Genève wristwatches (both in rose gold) and one pocket watch, each of them unique, featuring Ahmad bin Yahya Hamidaddin, the king of Yemen at the time. The design includes what appears to be a miniature portrait of the ruler. Ahmad bin Yahya was Imam and King from 1948 until his death in 1962 at the age of 71.
The inner caseback indicates the Geneva Key 2, which corresponds to Baumgartner who famously made the cases for the Patek Philippe 2526 (first automatic Patek wristwatch) and early Ellipses as well.
