Jean Pierre Ecoffey was a master of high-quality bracelet making, known for crafting some of the most intricate and sophisticated bracelets for Patek Philippe, Universal Geneve and other prestigious Swiss watch brands in the mid to late 20th century. His work is marked by the "JPE" stamp on the clasp. JPE’s fine mesh bracelets, often resembling fabric rather than metal, showcase exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The inner caseback indicates the Geneva Key 2, which corresponds to Baumgartner who famously made the cases for the Patek Philippe 2526 (first automatic Patek wristwatch) and early Ellipses as well.
