Based on the 3310 perpetual calendar, the 3470 adds the equation of time complication to the automatic perpetual calendar base and we can see this indicator in the place of the moonphase that is found on the 3310. The equation of time is a rare complication that displays the difference between civil time and true solar time, illustrating the daily variation in real time. This difference, which can be as much as 16 minutes, is caused by the Earth's elliptical orbit and the inclination of its axis. Breguet has mastered this complication with great precision, demonstrating the Maison's ability to combine science, watchmaking, and the philosophy of time.
